Half-Orc Name Generator
Half-orc names are short, blunt and built to be shouted across a battlefield — gutturals up front, and a clan name earned rather than inherited.

How half-orcs get their names
A half-orc's name is often two stories at war. The first name may be orcish — a single hard word a parent chose — while the second name is frequently not inherited at all, but earned: given by a tribe, a warband, an army, or the half-orc themselves after the deed that defined them. That's the logic of the clan names here: an image of violence or endurance joined to an action. Some half-orcs keep both worlds in one name — an orcish first name beside a human surname, or the reverse — and the generator's neighbouring pages (especially human names) mix well for exactly that purpose.
Complete the character with a class title: wizard, rogue, paladin or bard.
Frequently asked questions
Why are half-orc clan names "earned" rather than inherited?
Many half-orcs grow up between two worlds — too orcish for human villages, too human for orc tribes — so the names that stick are often the ones they win for themselves. The clan names here pair a hard image (Blood, Skull, Bone, Scar) with an action (fang, crusher, splitter, maul): they read like reputations, not birth certificates.
What if my half-orc was raised by humans?
Then mix the pages: take a human first name from the human generator and pair it with a clan name from this page — or the reverse. A name like "Corin Bloodfang" tells the table exactly where the character grew up and what the world made of them.
Why are half-orc first names so short?
Orcish naming favours names that carry across a battlefield and survive being shouted through tusks: one or two syllables, gutturals up front, nothing delicate. Ghorak, Mogara, Rogash — if it can't be a war-cry, it isn't finished.
