General information
The tools and content on Handy Toolshelf are provided for general information and entertainment. While we work to keep the information accurate and sourced, we make no guarantees of completeness or fitness for any particular purpose, and you use the site at your own discretion.
Cooking conversions
Cup-to-gram conversions are inherently approximate: they depend on the ingredient, its brand and condition, and how the cup is filled. Our figures come from published sources named on each page (primarily the King Arthur Baking Ingredient Weight Chart and USDA data) and assume the measuring methods those sources describe — flour spooned and levelled, brown sugar packed. For critical applications (commercial production, medical or dietary requirements), verify weights with a scale and the source appropriate to your situation.
Snow day calculator
The Snow Day Calculator is an entertainment feature. It is not a weather forecast, uses no meteorological data, and must not be relied on for decisions about travel, work or school attendance. Always follow official announcements from your school, employer and local authorities regarding closures and severe weather.
Name generator
Names produced by the DnD Name Generator are generated from original lists written for this site, but names are short phrases that different people can coin independently. We cannot guarantee that a generated name is unused elsewhere, and we are not responsible for how names are used. Advertising and affiliates
This site may display advertising (including Google AdSense) and may contain affiliate links in the future. If so, ads will be served by third-party networks subject to their own policies, and affiliate relationships will be disclosed on the pages where such links appear. Advertising does not influence our conversion data, which comes only from the published sources cited on each page.
